Activities at Abu Madi Game Reserve
We at Abu Madi are very privileged to share
our beautiful surroundings with wonderful animals, birds and insects,
All of whom must all be treated with respect and are afforded the right
of way, on this their home.
Game Viewing
Upon arrival, visitors are given a map of Abu Madi, Showing all the roads, game viewing hides with special tips where certain animals are more likely to be observed. Self-drives can be undertaken in ones own vehicle; alternatively staff will conduct game viewing tours in an open game-viewing vehicle
Bird watching
Bird watching is becoming a passion of many, even to beginners who leave Abu Madi, surprised how many birds they have seen, been able to identify and enjoy. One can observe birds from the different hides and even from the comfort of your chair on the patio of the lodge and the porch of the bush camp
Game Viewing Hides
The five different game viewing hides are an ideal way of watching, undetected the animal and birds. The hides on Abu Madi have been specially erected within and surrounded by the knob thorn trees, close to the water, accommodating two to four people. These smaller hides afford privacy for individuals guests to be able to observe in solitude not only the animals and birds, but to soak in the sounds and smells of the bush, to experience the peace and tranquility of the nature around them. One can take ones flask of coffee in the morning or sundowners in the evening with you whilst spending time in the hides, instead of driving around looking for the animals and birds let them come to you.
